"I had a great experience with Melvin. I was unsure whether I wanted to switch companies but Melvin was very thorough and convincing. He was able to get me full coverage on my vehicles plus road side assistance without sending me to the Po house! I'ma tell ya the truth I was ready to take my chances ducking and dodging the police before I paid another payment on insurance that felt like a house note. "I had Melvin Owens as my agent. When it was time for my renewal with Allstate, I called State Farm for a quote, but I wasn’t satisfied with their offer, so I decided to stay with Allstate. A few months later, Melvin reached out to let me know about a new program that could lower my rate. This time, his quote came in lower than before, so I decided to switch my insurance. Melvin was extremely patient throughout the process. He took the time to explain the terms clearly, gave me helpful advice on the coverage I needed for my situation, and guided me without being pushy. If I were in his position, I might have moved on to other clients, but he remained both patient and genuine without ever being persistent."

"Pursuant to my earlier review of this agency, I am now flabbergasted at the outcome of doing business with Chris Looney State Farm Agency. After writing such a glowing review of Ashton Gardner selling me auto insurance on June 9, 2025, thinking that paying an amount of $1,676.50 for 6 months' coverage was a win for me, receiving my insurance card and papers from State Farm, State Farm has cancelled my insurance as of July 11, 2025 and wants to refund me $1,136/71. After State Farm had cashed my check for $1,676.50 on June 9, 2025, I received an email on June 20, 2025 with an enclosed statement in the amount of $1,356. When I responded to the email enquiring what that amount was for, I received no response. I sent a late night text to Mr. Gardner on June 23, 2025 advising that I had received a statement in the mail for an amount of $3,032.63 for a six-month polcy and what was I to understand. He responded on June 24, 2025 asking what time would I get off work on that day, that he wanted to call me to "go over everything that evening." Mr. Gardner called me after 5:30 that evening and feigned ignorance as to the decision made shortly after June 9 receipt of my funds. He claimed that "a woman" told him that had obtained my SS # at the time of application that he would have known that State Farm could not insure me. He stated that he was so upset when he was told that. I asked what was I to do at that point? He stated that he has a friend at All State whom he would like to put me in touch with and asked for permission to give my number to that perosn. I said to Mr. Gardner, all that is good and well but what happens now if State Farm is to cancel my coverage. He assured me that I woud be given a full refund and at that time I was covered. Once Mr. Gardner huhg up on Tuesday, June 24, I never heard from him again. Quite shoddy! All this was taking place three days prior to me leaving for vacation. Upon return of my vacaton, I receivd a letter from State Farm of them cancelling my insurance on July 11, 2024. State Farm, having made the determination to cancel my insurance since June, held on to my funds until July so as to take $539.79. WHY? Who allows these insurance companies to cause such harm to consumers? Without consumers, there would be no need for insuance companies! I have been scammed by this agency and now refute my previous review of Ashton Gardner and Chris Looney Agency. . . this agency and its agents need to be investigated about the way they offer coverage to consumers and I do intend to escalate this matter to the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire."

Our team strives to assist every customer to the best of our ability when underwriting actions result in adverse outcomes, and we are truly sorry if you felt unsupported. Insurance is a service that provides financial protection over a specified period, and coverage is rendered during that time. While your policy was ultimately cancelled by underwriting, coverage was in place for a certain number of days, which corresponds to the premium charged. This means that State Farm provided a paid service during that timeframe, and as such, the premiums are not refundable in full. We appreciate your feedback and take it seriously as we continually work to improve our communication and service. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly. Our goal is to assist you in any way we can.
